We have initiated a project that will put in place enhanced support for regional manufacturers with the evolution of one of the Agency’s flagship projects, NEPA.
In the new service, NEPA will be integrated with the Department for Business, Enterprise and Regulatory Reform’s (previously DTI) Manufacturing Advisory Service to provide a seamless offer to business. Related manufacturing support, such as Energy Resource Efficiency and Design for Manufacturing, will also be delivered via this route.
One North East has launched the tendering process that will put in place a new management arrangement for MAS/NEPA, to provide a first-rate comprehensive service to the region’s manufacturers, starting in July 2007. There has already been strong interest from a range of regional and national organisations.
The Agency is committed to supporting manufacturing and putting in place more efficient and robust working practices that can raise competitiveness of regional firms in the global marketplace, ultimately boosting productivity, growth and sustainability.
In the last financial year alone NEPA Best Practice worked with over 30 companies helping them achieve millions of pounds in productivity savings by adopting lean manufacturing principles into their business.
There will be further updates on the changes to the MAS/NEPA service in the future and for further information, please contact Dorothy Kelly who is the Project Manager overseeing the process of putting in place the new service, on 0191 2296571, or email dorothy.kelly@onenortheast.co.uk
